How we Became Wizards and Saved the World

*explanation*
We were walking along the drag, and talking about how we really, really, REALLY wished we were wizards. Then we decided that we really are wizards, but, "we could go crazy believing that". Then we spotted a dollar bill on the ground and both reach out to get it, only to feel that "not-so-familiar" tug behind our navels. Suddenly, we are in DIAGON ALLEY. "Whoa there." "Well, if this is a dream, we might as well make the most the most of it." So we went to Gringotts, and we are so cool and know how to exchange our money because we read the books :p Then we went to Ollivander's. "I've been expecting you two..." "You have?" "Yes, but it's not my place to tell you." "Um... okay. Can we have wands though?" "Of course." So we got our wands. Deciding we can't get into too much trouble, we sample a spell on some leaves. "Wingardium LevioSA!" Just a real couple of Hermiones, ne? Anyway, then we go to Quality Quidditch supplies and gawk at the Firebolt. And then there's a voice: "I thought I would find you two here." "Mr. Professor Dumbledore Headmaster Sir!?" "Yes, that is whom you are speaking to." We are muchos confused. "I supposed you want to know why you are here." We nodded. "Well, first of all, you are not muggles." "Well, why didn't we get letters?" "Because then we were at peace. But desperate times cause for desperate measures." "But..." "No more questions. We must be off to Hogwarts." So we go by floo powder from the Leaky Cauldron to Dumbledore's office. There we are sorted into Gryffindor. McGonagall takes us to our common room and introduces us as "Permenant American Visitors." So here's out story.

***sidenote: the 2nd book never happened, which makes Harry and his friends in their 4th year. Percy, the twins, and Oliver Wood are in our year. Why? Because we can do that.***

Look, now you can comment on our adventures. Wish you were us, ne?

I looked at all the people in front of me. They were all staring at us.

"Hello," I said a little uncertainly. The room burst into laughter at the ice-breaking comment. I watched Fred and George Weasley, accompanied by their friend Lee Jordan, elbow their way to the front of the room as others went back to their normal evening activities.

Clara nudged me. She mouthed the word 'awesome', and then stepped forward to greet the oncoming twins.

"Well, yo there."

"Hey, I'm George, and this is Fred, and this is Lee!" George exclaimed.

I shook Fred's hand first, both of us grinning at each other maniacally.

After formal introductions had been made, Lee pointed out the twins' slightly older brother Percy, who had his head bent down and seemed to be intently reading a book. "He's the best victim of our joke, really. Takes everything so seriously."

I laughed, knowing exactly what he meant. Then, suddenly, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted someone that I had been silently hoping to meet.

"Who might that be?" I asked Fred, as Clara chatted with Lee and George about various pranks she knew from movies.

Fred looked to where I was talking about. He smiled thoughtfully. "That's Oliver Wood, he's our Quidditch Captain and our Keeper. Spanking good one, at that."

I nodded, staring.

"Would ya like to meet 'im?" Fred asked slyly.

My breath caught in my throat as I tried to say yes. It came out sounding really weird, but I think Fred knew what I was trying to say anyway. He grabbed my hand and pulled me through the small crowds of people conversing over to where Oliver Wood (and oh my GOD he was gorgeous.).

Oliver looked up from the newspaper he had been scanning over. "Why, hello Fred."

"Hello Oliver. I thought I'd introduce you to my friend Lauren here. She really likes Quidditch and I thought she'd make a good addition to the team."

My mouth dropped open. I never said any of that. But nonetheless, I was glad Fred had said it. Suddenly, Oliver was very interested in whatever I had to say. Too bad I couldn't think of anything.

"I, um, hello." I managed.

Then Fred did something I wanted to shoot him for.

"I think I'll get back to George and Lee and Clara. See ya." And he disppeared. I. Was. Alone. With. Oliver. Wood.

"So what position do you play?" he questioned, genuinely curious.

I tried to get my act together. "Well... Keeper, actually. But of course, that's your position and you're really quite good at it. So then, I guess I would be an alright Beater, but then, well, there's the twins... so after that would be Chaser. I can throw pretty well. I'm really good at catching things, from baseball, ya know, so I could do that." I really had no idea what I was saying. I had never played Quidditch before. Ever. How was I to know what I would be good at?

He didn't seem to mind my babbling and confusion. "I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure you'll be great at whatever position we decide to play you at."

I wasn't sure if he understood just why I was so worried. I had never flown before. Damn you, Fred.

"Thanks!" I smiled brightly, trying to act a little more confident. The varsity softball team at LBJ adored me and valued me as one of their best. I desperately tried to pretend that this was the same situation.

Now, in a fanfic, Oliver Wood would have blushed right then and his thoughts would be written about how beautiful he thought my smile was.

But this, may I remind you, isn't a fanfic. It's the truth. He may have blushed. It was too dark to tell. He may have thought my smile was beautiful. I can't read minds.

However, whatever he do or think, he was starting to say something. "Say, do you think..."

Of course, this was when Fred and George came over, grabbing me. "Sorry Wood, but we've got to introduce Lauren to everyone. You can have her back later. I'm sure she won't mind." Two times that night, I wanted to shoot Fred.

"Bye," I said feebly, being dragged away from the gorgeous Keeper and over to Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger.
